Mt. Airy Dog Park, also called Doris Day Dog Park, is a fenced off-leash area in Cincinnati’s Mt. Airy Forest. Use the dog park address on Westwood Northern Boulevard rather than the forest’s main Colerain Avenue entrance. Separate areas serve larger and smaller dogs, and visitors often praise the room to run and wooded setting.
Plan your visit
- Dog park address: 2970 Westwood Northern Boulevard, Cincinnati, OH 45211.
- Hours: Cincinnati Parks posts forest hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Check the dog park’s gate signs for its opening time and any maintenance restrictions before an early visit.
- Bring: A leash, drinking water, bowl and waste bags. Supplies and working water should not be assumed.
- Restrooms: The city’s current notice lists the Doris Day Dog Park restrooms out of service for repair, with a portable toilet available. Check for changes before leaving.
Find the dog park entrance
Get directions to Mt. Airy Dog Park on Westwood Northern Boulevard. The city’s main forest address, 5083 Colerain Avenue, serves a different approach. Keep your dog leashed between your vehicle and the enclosure.
A June 2026 visitor described an uphill walk into the dog park. If steps, slopes or uneven ground would make access difficult, check the route before committing to a visit. Open the city’s Mt. Airy Forest page and printable trail maps for the wider park layout.
Water, play areas and ground conditions
Cincinnati Parks describes a nearly four-acre dog park with separate big- and small-dog areas. Choose the enclosure using its posted signs. The city has identified muddy terrain and maintenance needs, and an older visitor review describes roots and holes. Watch your footing, especially after rain, and bring a towel for the ride home.
A December 2025 visitor mentioned a water spout, but that does not confirm it is working today. Bring your own drinking water. If you extend the outing into the forest, keep your dog leashed. Dogs are not allowed in the Mt. Airy Arboretum.
Rules before you enter
Cincinnati Parks’ dog park rules require leashes when entering and exiting. Inside, handlers must keep a leash in hand, remain within view of their dogs and maintain control. Remove a dog at the first sign of aggression.
Bag and dispose of waste, fill holes your dog digs, and keep vaccinations current as recommended by your veterinarian. Dogs need an owner identification tag or microchip. Dogs in heat are prohibited, and children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Staff may close the area for maintenance; follow posted restrictions.
What other park visitors say
Visitors in 2026 describe a large space where dogs can play and meet companions. Several appreciate the separate small-dog area. An August visitor recommended carrying waste bags and felt the play area could be too energetic for a quieter dog. A June visitor also raised concerns about dogs crowding the entrance.
Ground conditions receive mixed comments: some visitors praise upkeep, while a December 2025 review mentions exposed roots and holes. Check the entrance and activity level when you arrive, and leave if the setting does not suit your dog. Read current Google reviews for newer experiences.
More options and updates
The city’s park improvement plan schedules work on the dog park entrance and activity features to begin in 2027. These are planned improvements, not facilities to expect today.
