Find the dog park entrance
Use the Park District address on North Avers Avenue, south of Diversey Avenue. The official site plan places the dog enclosure beside the existing baseball field, near the park’s drinking fountain and the small parking lot. Look for the six-foot chain-link enclosure and double gate rather than using the nearby playground or splash-pad entrances.
Open directions to Kosciuszko Dog Friendly Area. Keep your dog leashed elsewhere in the park and until both of you are safely through the gate.
Paved play, shade and seasonal water
The existing exact-park photo shows a paved run with chain-link fencing, bench seating and mature trees. The hard surface limits deep mud, but it can become hot in strong sun, so check it with your hand before active play.
Visitors report a water fountain and small shared dog pools during warmer weather. Empty or refresh standing pool water before use, bring a bowl and towel, and never assume the fountain will be operating.

Park goers describe a clean, manageable neighborhood run with a secure entry, bench seating, drinking water and enough room for short play sessions. Visitors appreciate the paved surface when surrounding areas are wet and value the shade from established trees.

Rules before you enter
Chicago Park District rules require owners to remain with and watch their dogs, keep gates closed, clean up waste and leash dogs before entering and after leaving. Food for people or dogs is prohibited inside Dog Friendly Areas.
Each person may bring no more than three dogs. Puppies under four months, female dogs in heat and dogs with known dangerous behavior are prohibited. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Every dog needs the required Dog Friendly Area permit and current registration tag; visitor day passes are not available.
