Find the dog park entrance
Use the City-listed address on Bryan Stock Trail and choose either public parking lot serving the fenced park. Both lots have double-gated entries. Keep your dog leashed while unloading and until both of you are safely through the second gate. Check posted signs before approaching the water because lake levels, shoreline access and maintenance conditions can change.
Swimming, surfaces and rinse water
The City identifies a special swimming area near Lake McKenzie and supplies hoses for rinsing muddy dogs. Park goers describe a mix of wood chips, gravel, dirt and paved paths, with shade trees and a covered seating area. Low spots may hold seasonal mud or standing water. Prevent dogs from drinking untreated lake water, supervise the shoreline closely and rinse paws before the ride home.
What park goers say
Recent park goers commonly praise the space to run, the concrete walking loop, lake access, shade and convenient water. Others mention mud, mosquitoes near dusk, worn fountains or gaps near the swimming boundary. Several visitors also describe mixed experiences with crowd supervision. Check the gates and shoreline on arrival, bring your own water and bags, and leave if another dog’s behavior makes the visit uncomfortable.
Rules before you enter
Casper allows off-leash use at Lake McKenzie only within the designated area. Dogs should remain leashed elsewhere, and owners must remove their dog’s waste. Bring bags even when a station is present. Natrona County requires dogs to be licensed, and posted park notices or temporary closures take priority over general information. Keep your dog under active supervision around gates, paths and water.
Before you go
