Currie Dog Park is Milwaukee County’s fully fenced dog exercise area in Wauwatosa, with a 10-acre large-dog section and a separate 1.5-acre small-dog section. The large side combines open grass with wooded trails, while both areas connect easily to the Oak Leaf Trail and Menomonee River Parkway.

Find the dog park entrance
The service-yard parking lot off Capitol Drive is closed. Milwaukee County directs visitors to park along Menomonee River Parkway, where both fenced areas have access from the parkway and Oak Leaf Trail. Keep your dog leashed outside the enclosure and close both gates behind you.

Open grass and wooded trails
The large-dog area gives energetic dogs a broad grassy field plus shaded woodland paths. The preserved exact-park photo shows a dog looking across the open lawn toward mature trees. The smaller enclosure provides its own substantial field for dogs under the posted size limit.
Prepare for hills and mud
Visitors regularly mention slopes, wooded terrain and muddy conditions after rain or spring thaw. Wear shoes with traction, bring a towel and assess the ground if mobility is a concern. Water bowls sometimes appear through visitor contributions, but handlers should arrive self-sufficient.
Rules before entering
Each handler may bring no more than three dogs and must remain within view and voice control. Dogs must display a current license and dog-exercise-area tag. Carry one leash per dog, remove choke, pinch, spike and training collars for play, clean up waste and do not bring food or glass. Aggressive dogs and dogs in heat are prohibited.
