Find the dog park entrance
Use the official dog-park address at 6100 S. Lake Drive. The county map places the dog exercise area behind the Kelly Senior Center, near the southern end of Warnimont Park and the College Avenue side of the property. Follow the park road and dog-exercise-area signs to the nearby parking lots rather than stopping at the broader 5400 S. Lake Drive park address.
Get directions to the dog park, then use the county map and signs to locate the enclosure entrance.

Wooded off-leash trails and separate areas
Warnimont is different from a simple open-field dog run. The official description highlights wooded hiking trails inside the fenced five-acre space, giving dogs and handlers room to keep moving. A separate small-dog area provides another option for dogs that are more comfortable away from the main enclosure.
The dog area is close to Lake Michigan, but the county does not list a dog-swimming area here. Dogs are prohibited on county beaches and in the adjacent Warnimont Bluff Fens State Natural Area, so keep lakefront or nature-area portions of the visit on leash and follow posted restrictions.
Passes, water and what to bring
Milwaukee County currently offers annual and single-day dog-park passes, including purchase at self-pay stations. Check the county page before leaving for current prices, open status and any maintenance closure. Bring a leash for every dog, waste bags, drinking water and a bowl. The official park description does not promise a working drinking-water source inside the Warnimont enclosure.
What park goers say
Recent visitor comments describe the wooded layout as feeling more like an off-leash hike than a standard dog run. Park goers also praise the natural setting and room to explore. Seasonal mud is the most consistent caution, so waterproof footwear and a towel can make wet-weather visits easier.
Reviews are personal experiences and conditions can change. Check the county’s open-status information and current visitor reviews before a long drive.
Rules before you enter
Milwaukee County limits each handler to three dogs and requires handlers to remain inside the enclosure, supervise their dogs and maintain view and voice control. Dogs must display a license and dog-exercise-area tag, remain leashed until inside the double-gated entry and be current on vaccinations. Carry one leash per dog and close every gate behind you.
Aggressive dogs and female dogs in heat are prohibited. The county also prohibits food, glass containers, choke collars, pinch collars, spike collars and training collars inside the dog exercise area. Clean up immediately and fill any holes your dog digs. Review the complete county rules before entering.
