Water, shade and play areas
Both enclosures have drinking and waste facilities. The water stations sit on concrete pads, so check the surface temperature before allowing bare paws to linger during hot weather. Bring backup water and a bowl in case a fountain is temporarily unavailable.
The three shade structures offer useful breaks, but portions of the enclosure remain exposed. Plan cooler morning or evening visits during summer and watch closely for overheating.
Rules before you enter
Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting. Puppies six months old or younger, dogs in heat, sick dogs and aggressive dogs are prohibited. Each adult may bring no more than three dogs, and every dog must have a current rabies vaccination. Universal City residents must also obtain a city dog license.
Use the area assigned to your dog’s size, clean up waste immediately and supervise children closely. Children should not run through the enclosure or approach unfamiliar dogs. Report bites or attacks to Universal City Animal Control.
