Three fenced play areas
The small-dog section is reserved for dogs 25 pounds and under, while dogs over 25 pounds use the large-dog section. The third fenced area is intended for agility work. Food is allowed only when it is being used for training in the agility area.
Three shaded pavilions, benches and picnic tables give handlers places to rest. The park lists fountains for both dogs and people, but bringing your own water and bowl is useful during hot weather or when a dog has trouble using the fountain.
Rules before you enter
Dogs must be older than four months, licensed, vaccinated and wearing a collar with visible current tags. Spike, prong and pinch collars are prohibited. Each handler may bring no more than three dogs and must remain with them, keep them in view and maintain voice control.
Leash dogs between the parking area and the gate. Clean up waste, stop excessive barking or digging and fill holes. Aggressive or contagious dogs and females in heat are prohibited. Children younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Smoking, alcohol, glass, wheeled recreation, other animals and play pools are not allowed. The park includes open grass, worn rocky areas and a nature trail. Shoes with good traction help on the trail, and a towel is useful after rain. Texas heat can make open sections uncomfortable, so visit during cooler hours, use the shaded pavilions and bring backup water.
