Choose the correct play area
The City divides the park at 30 pounds: dogs at or above that weight use the 1.1-acre large-dog area, while dogs under 30 pounds use the smaller 0.31-acre enclosure. Use the double-gated entry, close each gate behind you and follow any updated designation posted at the park.

Park goers commonly appreciate the separate size areas, grass, fencing, water access and shaded seating. Some visitors describe a friendly social setting and especially active play after rain.
The most repeated caution is mud after wet weather, particularly in the larger enclosure. Bring a towel and your own drinking water as backup. Visitor ratings are mixed, so check current conditions and supervise closely rather than assuming every amenity is working.
Rules before you enter
Lubbock requires dogs to be leashed while entering and leaving. Owners must remain inside, supervise their dogs, keep a leash ready, clean up waste immediately and maintain voice control. Handlers must be at least 16; children under 13 require adult supervision.
Dogs must wear a collar with current rabies and identification tags. Food and treats, glass containers, sick or aggressive dogs and puppies under four months are prohibited. Excessive barking is not allowed, and owners should fill holes their dogs dig.
