- Dog requirements: Dogs must be at least 16 weeks old, spayed or neutered, currently vaccinated and free of contagious disease and parasites.
- Handler limit: No more than two dogs per owner or handler. Handlers must be at least 16 and carry one leash per dog.
- Bring: Drinking water, a bowl, waste bags and a towel. Check the available fountains before relying on them in hot weather.
Find the dog park entrance
The dog park shares the 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Boulevard campus with the Killeen Community Center and nearby athletic facilities. From Veterans Memorial Boulevard, follow the community-center signs into the complex and look for the fenced dog areas beside their dedicated parking.
Get directions to Mickey’s Dog Park. Keep your dog leashed and collared from the vehicle through the entry gate, then pause inside the transition area before entering the appropriate enclosure.
Choose the right enclosure
The small-dog enclosure is only for dogs weighing less than 30 pounds. Dogs weighing 30 pounds or more must use the large-dog enclosure. The city allows smaller dogs in the large-dog area at the owner’s risk, but large dogs are not allowed in the small-dog area.
Both fenced areas provide room for off-leash play. The city lists toys and play areas, and a June 2026 improvement project added concrete pads and picnic tables beneath two shade structures. Use the seating and shade without losing sight or voice control of your dog.
Rules before you enter
Dogs with a known history of aggressive or dangerous behavior are prohibited. Leash and immediately remove a dog at the first sign of aggression. Dogs may not be left unattended, and handlers are responsible for preventing biting or fighting, cleaning up waste and repairing damage caused by their dogs.
No food for people or dogs, edible dog toys, smoking, glass or metal containers, bicycles, skateboards, skates, scooters, strollers or carriages are allowed. Choke chains and pronged, spiked or shock collars are also prohibited. Visitors age 15 and younger must remain with a supervising adult.

Park goers often mention the amount of open space, the separate size areas and the chance for dogs to run and socialize. Visitors also call out the shade structures, benches, fountains and waste-bag stations as useful features, especially during longer visits.
