Three play areas and desert conditions
The City’s layout includes one small-dog area and two large-dog areas. A section may occasionally be closed for turf recovery or maintenance, so follow locked gates and posted signs instead of entering a resting enclosure.
Grass coverage, shade and water availability can change through El Paso’s hot, dry seasons. The City lists a dog drinking fountain and benches, but bring backup water and avoid the hottest part of the day. Check paws for hot ground, stickers and rough vegetation before and after play.
Rules before you enter
Follow all rules posted at the gate. El Paso’s dog-park rules require dogs to be licensed and vaccinated and to wear a visible license. Leash dogs before entering and when leaving. Each handler may bring no more than three dogs.
Puppies under four months and female dogs in heat are not permitted. Remove dogs showing dangerous behavior immediately, pick up waste and fill holes. Children six and younger may not enter the off-leash area; children ages seven through 12 need an accompanying adult. Spike and choke collars, smoking, food and alcohol are prohibited.
