Find the dog park entrance
Navigate to 300 Raines Avenue and follow Fair Park signs toward the Browns Creek Greenway and fenced dog areas. From the parking area, keep your dog leashed on shared sidewalks and greenway approaches until both of you are inside the appropriate gate. Fairgrounds and GEODIS Park events may change the most convenient parking route.
Fair Park map: The current Browns Creek Greenway map labels the dog park, trailhead, parking and Bransford Avenue approach. Open the Fair Park and Browns Creek Greenway map (PDF) while planning your route.
Turf, obstacles and water
Artificial turf makes the play areas usable after rain and helps avoid a fully muddy surface. The large-dog area includes obstacles, while both areas offer seating and drinking water. Turf can become hot in direct sun and may hold odor when drainage or cleaning falls behind. Test the surface with your hand during warm weather and bring backup drinking water.
What park goers say
Recent park goers often praise the strong fencing, separate size areas, convenient parking, turf and friendly social atmosphere. Some visitors report crowding on weekends, inconsistent waste pickup, turf odor or temporarily unavailable water. Quieter weekday visits may suit dogs that need more space. Check the fountain, gates and turf condition before settling in.
Rules before you enter
Metro Nashville requires current rabies and identification tags, a leash for entering and leaving, active handler supervision and immediate removal of aggressive dogs. Clean up waste and keep one leash available for every dog. Children younger than 10, puppies younger than four months, female dogs in heat, food, glass containers, spiked collars, grooming and more than two dogs per handler are prohibited. Organized events and training require another venue.
