Find the dog park entrance
Enter Jack Benson Heritage Park from Jenkins Road and follow the internal path toward the fenced dog park near the walking loop. Choose the signed large- or small-dog gate and keep your dog leashed until both of you are inside. The creek and family recreation areas are separate from the off-leash enclosure.
Grass, agility equipment and dog-size sections
The grassy enclosures give dogs room for fetch and social play, while low agility obstacles provide extra activity. Mature trees and nearby shade help during warmer weather, but coverage varies across the field. Stay within the section suited to your dog’s size and temperament.
Water and wet-weather conditions
Dog-level water and rinse stations help with drinking and cleanup, though service can change seasonally or during maintenance. Bring a bowl and backup water. Rain can leave worn areas muddy, so carry a towel and check paws before returning to the car. The nearby creek is part of the wider park and should not be treated as a supervised dog-swimming feature.
Rules before entering
Close both gates behind you, supervise your dog and clean up waste. Remove a dog that becomes aggressive or overwhelmed, and follow all posted vaccination, age, child, food and toy restrictions. Dogs should remain leashed in the walking, playground, picnic and creek areas outside the designated dog park.
What park visitors say
Park goers often praise the roomy grass, separate dog-size sections, agility features, water stations and friendly atmosphere. Reviews also mention occasional cleanup problems and rough interactions between dogs. These are individual experiences, so look over the surface and observe the dogs already inside before choosing a section.
