Use the Thatcher Park entrance at 750 NW David Hill Road and follow signs from the paved parking area toward the fenced dog enclosures. Keep your dog leashed throughout the surrounding community park and until you are through the dog-area gate.

Seasonal play areas
Forest Grove has previously closed the main small- and large-dog areas during wet-season turf work and opened a winter bark-chip enclosure instead. These rotations protect the grass and can change the available space. Check City alerts and the signs at each gate before releasing your dog.
What park goers say
Park goers praise the maintained grass, separate play areas, agility obstacles, benches, waste stations and nearby nature trail. The winter bark-chip area is useful when the main turf is resting.
Common cautions include intermittent water, muddy or closed turf, inconsistent waste pickup and poison oak near the wooded edges. Bring water, keep dogs out of signed restoration areas and stay on maintained paths outside the fenced enclosures.
Rules before you enter
Forest Grove requires pets to remain leashed in regular park areas and requires owners to clean up waste. Off-leash use belongs inside the designated dog enclosure. Alcohol, smoking, fireworks, weapons and unauthorized fires are prohibited in City parks. Read all dog-area signs before entering and supervise your dog throughout the visit.
