Canine Skyline Dog Park is a fenced off-leash area in Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights. The City lists water service and daily 6 a.m.-to-10 p.m. hours, while park goers often mention the open running space, mountain views and friendly morning crowd.
Plan your visit
- Address: 12700 Montgomery Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
- Hours: Open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Enclosure: The City lists Skyline as fenced. Current official information does not identify a separate small-dog enclosure, so plan for one shared play area.
- Water: The City lists water, but fountains are turned off during winter. Bring backup water and a bowl year-round.
- Surface: Expect a dry dirt, gravel or mulch-like surface rather than a grass field.
Find the dog park entrance
Approach from Montgomery Boulevard near Tramway Boulevard and use the public entrance on the west side of the dog park. The east-side gate is used for City service access and can be mistaken for the visitor entrance. Park near the west side and keep your dog leashed until you are through the double-gated entry.

What park goers say
Park goers praise the large open enclosure, mountain scenery, available water, seating and generally friendly visitors. Morning users often describe an active community, and several visitors say there is enough room for dogs to spread out even without separate size areas.
Common cautions include limited shade, seasonal water shutoffs, hard or dusty ground and occasional missed waste. Bring water, sun protection and waste bags, check your dog’s paws after play and supervise closely around unfamiliar dogs.
Rules before you enter
Carry a leash and keep your dog leashed until you are inside the double-gated entry. Dogs must remain under voice control and in sight. Remove aggressive dogs immediately and clean up all waste.
Dogs must be licensed and vaccinated with tags displayed. Puppies must be older than six months, and each person may bring no more than three dogs. Unneutered males and females in heat are not permitted. Children younger than 12 require an adult; the City discourages bringing toddlers and small children. Food and drinks are prohibited inside the fenced area.
