Use the Apollo Beach Recreation Center address on Golf and Sea Boulevard. The dog park is at the end of the recreation complex near the fire station. Follow the park signs from the parking area and keep your dog leashed until you reach the transition gate for the appropriate size area.
What park visitors say
Recent visitors often praise the grassy running space, separate areas, shade shelters and agility-style features. Reviews also mention water bowls, rinse hoses, waste stations and a generally friendly atmosphere. Some people prefer mornings because late afternoons and weekends can become busy.
Water equipment and grass conditions can change with maintenance and Florida weather. Even though water is normally provided, bringing a bottle and portable bowl gives you a backup. Check the ground temperature and give your dog frequent shade breaks on hot days.
Rules before you enter
Use the transition entrance one dog at a time. Remove the leash inside the transition area, then move away from the gate after entering so other dogs have room. Keep dogs leashed everywhere outside the fenced dog park.
Supervise your dog closely, remove a dog that behaves aggressively and clean up waste. Children younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Food is not allowed, and holes must be filled immediately. The county asks visitors to leave toys and small splash pools at home to reduce guarding conflicts.
Before you go
Check the official Apollo Beach Dog Park page for current hours or closure notices. Bring a standard leash, backup water and a towel if you plan to use the dog wash. Visit outside peak hours if your dog needs a calmer introduction.
