Water, play areas and comfort
The large enclosure provides most of the running space, while the smaller enclosure gives small dogs a separate place to play. Sacramento’s dog-park standards include double-gated entries, benches, shade and drinking fountains. The city’s park page does not promise that every fixture is working every day, so bring water and waste bags.
The adjacent Bill Conlin complex includes ball fields, a playground, picnic areas and sports facilities. Those shared amenities are outside the off-leash boundary. Leash your dog whenever you leave the fenced dog area.
Rules before you enter
Sacramento allows off-leash play only within the designated fenced area. Dogs must wear a current license on their collar. One handler is required for every two dogs, and handlers must clean up waste and immediately remove any dog showing aggressive or unruly behavior.
