Find the dog park entrance
Enter Phoenix Park from Sunset Avenue and continue toward the southwest corner, where the former Jim David T-ball fields were located. Use directions to the dog-park coordinates and follow park signs. Keep your dog leashed until you are inside the appropriate enclosure.
The official Phoenix Dog Park page provides current hours, weather closures and park-status alerts.
What to expect
The three-area layout gives visitors options based on dog size and comfort level. The district lists shade structures and benches, while parkgoers commonly mention grass, water hookups, seating and room to run. Turf and water conditions can vary during heat, rain and maintenance periods.
Rules and safety
Clean up after your dog, supervise continuously and leash dogs before entering and after leaving. No more than three dogs are allowed per adult. Dogs must be licensed, vaccinated and wearing current tags; dogs in heat and dogs showing aggressive behavior are prohibited.
Children under five are not allowed. Children ages five through twelve must be accompanied by adults, with one adult supervising the children and another supervising the dogs. Food, alcohol, glass and smoking are prohibited. Review the official dog-park rules before visiting.
What parkgoers say
Parkgoers often appreciate the grassy enclosures, separate areas, seating, water and welcoming regulars. Visitors also report that grass can become worn or muddy around sprinklers and water stations, and that shade varies by section and time of day.
