La Palma Dog Park is the fenced off-leash area at the eastern end of La Palma Park in Anaheim. Separate enclosures serve smaller and larger dogs. Bring drinking water, a leash and waste bags, and check the entrance signs before settling in.
Plan your visit
- Address: 1151 N. La Palma Parkway, Anaheim, CA 92801.
- Hours: The city lists daily hours of 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Pacific time. Posted maintenance or temporary restrictions take precedence.
- Choose the right enclosure: Anaheim’s rules place dogs weighing 25 pounds or less in the small-dog area and dogs over 25 pounds in the large-dog area, with a service-dog exception.
- Bring: Your dog’s water, a bowl, leash and cleanup supplies.
Find the dog park entrance
Get directions to La Palma Dog Park, rather than only to the stadium or another part of the larger park. Anaheim identifies the dog area at the park’s eastern edge. Keep your dog leashed on the approach and while passing through the gates.
Allow time to find parking and follow current access signs. A July 2026 visitor reported a changed approach from Harbor Boulevard; a March visitor wanted more parking. The city’s wider park improvement project is another reason to check the route before traveling. See the official park page for location details.
Water, play areas and what to expect
Visitors in May and August 2026 described separate play areas, benches, shade trees and drinking fountains. Bring your own water, check for available shade and choose a comfortable time of day for your dog.
The park has not always been an entirely grass surface. Anaheim’s 2018 parks plan describes replacing heavily worn central grass with decomposed granite during the 2017 renovation. Check the ground before play and expect conditions to vary with weather and maintenance.
Rules before you enter
Anaheim’s dog park rules allow no more than three dogs per adult. Dogs must remain in sight and respond to voice control. Keep a leash with you and leash your dog when entering and leaving.
Dogs need current vaccinations and licensing, plus a flat collar with a visible county tag. Puppies under four months, dogs in heat, sick dogs and aggressive dogs are not permitted. Children under 18 need adult supervision. Pick up waste immediately; food is prohibited, and permitted toys are limited to Frisbees and small retrievable balls. Read the full rules and posted signs before entering.
What other park visitors say
Recent visitors often describe a pleasant place for dogs to meet and play. Several mention grass, water fountains and well-kept enclosures. Parking and access are less consistent: one visitor reported a changed approach, while another felt the park needed more parking.
Check the pace of play at the gate and use the appropriate enclosure for your dog. Read current Google reviews for newer experiences, especially if you have not visited since the surrounding park work began.
