MacArthur Unleashed Dog Park is a two-acre fenced off-leash area on the south side of MacArthur Park in Little Rock. Separate large- and small-dog sections, double gates, grass, concrete walks, water features and evening lighting make it a practical downtown option.

Find the dog park entrance
Use directions to the dog-park coordinates on the south side of MacArthur Park. The dog area is near East 9th Street, southeast of the park’s central attractions. Keep your dog leashed across the larger park and through the staging gate.
Official park map: Little Rock’s MacArthur Park Master Plan map (PDF) labels the dog park as destination 9 and shows it in relation to streets, parking and other park features.
What to expect
Five-foot fencing and double-gated entries define the two play sections. The city developed the space with open grass, concrete walking paths, benches, painted fire hydrants, watering stations, a splash pad and LED lighting. Mature trees edge parts of the enclosure, but sun and ground conditions vary by season.
Choose the section that matches your dog’s size and temperament, move away from the entry before starting play and check that the water and gates are working when you arrive.
Rules and safety
Little Rock parks are generally open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. unless posted otherwise. Keep dogs leashed outside the enclosure, close both gates, supervise play and remove waste. Smoking and tobacco use are prohibited in city parks.
Construction, events or maintenance elsewhere in MacArthur Park may affect access. Review the Little Rock Parks and Recreation guidelines (PDF) and entrance signs before entering.
What parkgoers say
Parkgoers often praise the grass, open running room, separate sections and friendly mix of dogs and owners. Some visitors report that water or waste-bag supplies can be unavailable and recommend bringing both. Individual comments also mention limited shade, restroom access and occasional safety concerns around the wider park.
