Find the dog park entrance
Get directions to the dog park on the 63rd Avenue side. The broader park’s 9802 N. 59th Avenue address leads toward its eastern side and historic grounds. For the dog enclosure, use the west parking lot and look immediately north, below the softball fields.
The city’s map labels the dog park between that lot and the softball complex. Open the official Sahuaro Ranch map, or visit the city’s park page and map reference. Keep your dog leashed outside the enclosure and close the gate behind you.
Water, shade and what to check
Fountains are listed by the city, but bring backup water. Visitors reported a fountain problem in early May 2026 and water available again later that month. Check the fountain before relying on it for your visit.
Shade can differ between enclosures. An August visitor felt the small-dog area lacked shade and became cramped with several dogs; another August visitor enjoyed the space and social atmosphere. Check the area you intend to use, especially during warm weather. A June visitor also reported standing water, so look at the ground before entering.
Rules before you enter
Glendale’s dog park rules limit visits to three dogs. Owners must remain with their dogs, maintain control and carry a visible leash. Leash dogs when entering and leaving, and remove a dog at the first sign of aggression.
Dogs must be licensed and vaccinated and wear identification and permit tags. Pick up waste and repair digging damage. Dogs in heat, food and dog treats are not allowed. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Follow current signs, maintenance closures and the complete city rules.
