Hannah Daye Ridling Bark Park sits just inside the Vaughn Road entrance to Blount Cultural Park in Montgomery, Alabama. Separate small- and large-dog areas, walking paths and wash stations make it a useful stop for off-leash exercise. Choose the enclosure that suits your dog, and keep your leash on until you are inside.
Plan your visit
- Address: 6055 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, AL 36116.

- Before setting out: Have current vaccination and rabies-tag information available. Check for weather-related closures after rain.
Find the dog park entrance
Use the Vaughn Road entrance to Blount Cultural Park. The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts’ park guide places the bark park just inside that entrance. The museum and Alabama Shakespeare Festival occupy other parts of the larger park; their opening hours are not the dog park’s schedule.
Get directions to Hannah Daye Ridling Bark Park, then follow the signs to the dog-area entrance. Leave time to park, leash your dog and check which enclosure to use before going through the gates.
Play areas, shade and water
The Montgomery Humane Society’s park information describes walking trails, waste stations, gazebos, benches, fountains and dog-washing stations serving the two dog areas. These give you ways to alternate running with a slower walk or a seated break.
A wash station is useful for muddy paws, but do not plan around a guaranteed working hose or an available pool. Keep backup water with you and use the conditions you find that day to decide how long to stay.
Rules before you enter
The city’s bark-park listing requires current vaccinations and a rabies tag, leashes when entering and exiting, supervision and prompt waste cleanup. Remove a dog that becomes aggressive. Puppies under four months and dogs in heat are not allowed. Dogs must wear collars or harnesses, without prong or studded collars.
No human or dog food, glass containers or smoking is allowed. An adult must accompany children under thirteen. Read the posted rules at the gate, including any maintenance or wet-ground closure notice, before entering.
What other visitors say
Visitors in 2026 describe a spacious park with room to run, walking paths and separate areas for smaller dogs. Several praise the setting and report repeat visits. A July visitor mentioned shaded spots, while a January visitor appreciated the parking and water available during that visit.
Experiences are not uniformly positive. Some visitors reported waste left behind or encounters with uncontrolled dogs. A March visitor described people bringing water when a hose was not running. Bring backup water and check the fountains when you arrive. Watch the activity around the gate and leave if the play is not a good fit for your dog. Read current park reviews for more recent experiences.
